Golcar V BrighouseWhat can I say, just like Wigan, Brighouse felt the backlash of 3 points dropped midweek and suffered badly at the hands of a very Revved up Golcar side!
Dominated them from start to finish, dont be suprised to see them at bottom of league this season!
Was speaking to tom & adam matthews last night and they said that Campion were awesome against Meltham, and 2-0 flattered Meltham. Campion could be a side to watch out for this season!

Campion are always a team to watch out for. They are very difficult to beat at home. No one ever hammers em. Big tough side who play to their strengths. Meltham are a good footballing side,play the ball about as good as anyone,but are very much lacking strength in depth. They have lost Mr Newiss to Marsden,good player who will make Marsden a tough side to beat. Meltham rely alot on the 2 Mathews Brothers,Dawson and Sheddy. Take even 1 of them out and they struggle.

By the way Shane,did you play yesterday and any regrets about leaving Marsden.In my opinion it was a big mistake.

well craig123 football is all about opinions and yours counts for fuck all my old fruit!
Played a full 90 on sat, played well so no regrets whatsoever. Great set of lads up at Golcar plus i dont get on too well with the players Marsden have brought in with the exception of Newiss so that might have caused a few problems too.
All in all think it was best for both clubs really!

A bit harsh Shane.Am not doubting your ability to get in Golcars team. Just wondered if you had any regrets,with Marsden starting so well.Now you have explained it i fully understand.

Exactly. Put it this way Pilly.The ball doesnt spend much time on the ground in midfield. Your big lads at the back dont mess around,get rid of the ball to the 2 strong lads up front,with the midfield supporting picking up the bits.Not much football played,but effective,like NE Counties league. Unless you only play like that against Bay,and play different tactics against everone else,then i am mistaken.

Thats a bit harsh seeing wi have one of the best wingers in benji along with pikey in the league, but ur entitled to ur opinion, but i would say were not to dismular to ur selfs, pace on the wings and strong down the middle, only problem wi us is we always start the season wi 3 or 4 players suspended players and lads on holidays. but i guess its the same for all teams,, and regards to frankie being asked to play at higher level,,,ive no doubt he could,,, but there a big difference from our league and unibond one,,,ask kitty and brighton,,good players at our level but when they tried stepping up it was a bridge to far,,, i agree the top teams in our league would hold there own with the top teams in nec wi the only difference being fitness,, there is alot of good keepers in our league ,hall greens keeper, our keeper and frankie, but for me you have a keeper at marsden thats been there done that and got the t shirt and would replace any keeper in our league if he wanted too and is probabley only at marsden cos his kid is the manager, Its good playing with ur mates but surley there comes a time when you want to take the next step and play as higher standard as poss dont you agree craig123? Q r u a playing or non playing part of bay set up.. and any truth in you ovenden and and us joining the semi pro ranks next year?

Agree with your point about Benji,good pacey winger.Wasnt having a go at Campion,as i said.always a tough side to beat.Think this season,the league will be alot more competetive.Unlike last season,when it was between 2 teams,can see any one of 6 teams challenging for the title.The first 10 games generally show who,s going to be up there come the end of season. I am a non playing member at the Bay now,unlike yourselves and Ovenden[when they move to their new ground]we cant go any higher,because we rent and share the ground with Hudds town academy,and Syngenta FC. Towns contract is up in 2 years,we are hoping they dont renew it,then we can play on the front pitch and put floodlights up.Untill then our hands are tied.

Mr Chosticks,i take it you mean Barry. Agree he can be aggressive on the pitch,but he is an absolute gentleman off it. He has a presence on the pitch which we need sometimes to give confidence to the rest of the lads,and to combat any aerial threat in midfield,cos we arnt exactly the biggest team in the league.Barry has been at the Bay for over 6 years now and has never been sent off. Famous last words.

thats fucking bollox!!!!!!!!! read the original post it says campion are "big and strong" not a set of thugs, and to label baz a thug just shows you've never strayed out of the sticks. carl aint exactly a cultered footballer but he's good at what he does in breaking things up and mixing it with the likes of barry(as well as others).and although he can be cynical i wouldnt label him a thug! ask any of your players if they think baz is a thug. i doubt they would.

Now now Frankie - Thug isn't the correct word and I stand corrected. I was in the process of typing how he has complimented Bay's style well with the the more technically gifted players you have but my session timed out and you nipped before me.
As for running up & down a pitch for 90 mins - don't be silly - Shame really as I'm the best finisher in the club, but all goalies are!

ok i apolagise for the rant. and ye your right as keepers we are the best finishers going!!!!! 28 goals in my debut season as a midfielder(sundays tho!)

have to agree wi frankie ,,,bay are not the same player without barry in the middle of the park, with out him they lack the physical presence, someone that sets the tone with the first tackle/challenge, carl is very simular but doesnt have the same impact, its just a shame hes knocking on, hard but fair altough he did give me a cheeky little elbow last year at home and i stupidley squared up to him and was very relieved when players from both teams intervened....phew,,, and why is it all goalies think they can play out,,,q for u frankie and chopsticks in the teams that u play in now would you be able to play in ur current teams as a outfield player..........didnt think so,,,,,,top three this year bay then ovenden or campion, suprize teams of the year marsden and albion,,,relegation fodder kirkburton and sorry iw ardsley

what makes you think that ardsley and kirkburton will get relegated?
kirkburton finished 7th last season and got to the sheffield cup final.
ardsley drawn one and lost one this season same as kirkburton.
brighouse and halifax irish for relegation, bay and campion and perhaps golcar for title.

keepers are never taken seriously as outfield players(although i made a few think last season!) but ye i wouldnt get in our 1st team.

dont be sorry, if we play like we did against Marsden i.e dont take our chances and have only a handful from our best 11 for a long period of time we will struggle.
we know how difficult its going to be and the last thing we needed was to start the season with so many injuries.
we''ll stick with it and hopefully have our day soon

halifax irish wont,,i forgot all about brighouse, tyersal might struggle but will have enough to stay up and albion wil be a top 4 side, its all about opinions and mine are based on the two which have been premoted to the prem will stay up, i think it will be tight but feel ardsley and kirkburton wont be strong enough
