Hall Green 1 Campion 2Hall Green Utd had a total of 18 players missing from the squad this weekend and as a result Admin didn't get to travel with the reserves for their 9-3 whooping at Yeadon. Instead, he was drafted in to start as Wing Back for the firsts....I'm not sure which of the two would have been more gruelling!!
Anyhow, the game was basically ruined by the strong winds, with limited football being played. Campion held firm throughout the first half as they defended for 90% of it, and coming in at half time 0-0, was obviously a plus point for them. Green threw alot forward, but wthout alot of end product. Campion had a few good chances as they tried to counter the winds, but Greens defence was in much better form than Wednesday night.
The second half was a little bit different, Green refused to sit deep and kept pushing upfield and battle themselves out of the wind. Campion were awarded a free-kick 20 yards out, which was well taken round the wall and slipped under Flubber's body. This was the worst thing Capion could have done as they became a little complacent and let Green back in the game, who 10 mins after going behind got themselves back on level terms with a thunderous curling strike. At 1-1, the game would have probably been a fair result, but with 10 minutes left Campion were awarded a penalty. 2-1 down, a couple of chances went begging for us before the final whistle went. Hall Green disappointed not to get anything out of the game.
