following a few conversations and the guarantees by certain players and committee members i've done a u turn in the style of a woman and decided i will take the job on next season.
i dont want to turn the club into eastenders, i hope those who have spoken on my behalf and support my proposals will give the commitment to the club.
I think in thruth we could only see one result by carrying on the way we were.
I dont want to turn it into a dictatorship at all or seem like a baby, but harsh decisions and implementations do need to be made.
I'm sure this is the same at all clubs. The managers are only as good as he players and their commitment,
we are a premier team, we have to act like one or we wont be for long.
Thanks for the support to those who know they deserve it. hopefully it will last.
Could i ask how many premier teams currently pay subs and how they structure their club. My first requirement is that we do all we can to ensure first teqam do not pay subs.
thoughts please

IR Baboon you are either a sucker for punishment or soft. Unless these dramatic changes you infer are backed up and the committee commit to you on all fronts then the mentality at the club is and has been for as while to turn up and play when they feel like. I for one wish you well son and hope you turn it around.
Ps you need another way of funding if you are to stop first team subs and even then you know what you'll get from the Jossies.

dont know how u could manage without players paying subs. as a club we have 3 teams and all pay subs (despite what some people think about our players getting payed) and we still struggle to raise finances. you should try and establish a team that your players are happy to pay to play in, if not look for players that are. Our manager is ruthless when it comes to picking his team but his man management is top draw, and if he loses a player he simply finds a replacement (probably easier said than done) Stick to the philosephy that no player is bigger than the club and you should be alright.
must say i'm surprised at the fallout your having cos in the 2 games you played against us you proved your a good prem side. _________________ pain is your friend it lets you know your still alive!

You cant have 1st team players not paying subs. It will create resentment from 2nd team players and committee members who put their time and effort in for nothing. Like Frankie says, no player is bigger than the club.

We try not to let the lads pay subs at Hall Green. First or Reserves. You find a sponsor who pay £50 to cover your 'subs'. If you can't find a sponsor you pay £30. Less than a quid a game. The club itself is quite a big club in fairness. The clubhouse makes alot of money, footy in the winter, cricket in the summer. Plus darts & dominoes, pool and golf clubs all running out of it.
The juniors is a big contributer too.
All of it is well structured and run brilliantly by the volunteers, with lots of fundraising activities. If you ever want advice IW then talk to my old man, he's the chief with all that!!

you might find this a bit of a chuckle given our lowly position, however as a club linked with tingley we are not in too bad a financial position.
the eventual aim is that no one pays subs, the initial idea was that no one would pay subs if the team won, they would pay a quid or so for a draw and £3 for a defeat,
further proposals from within tingley believe the team can be funded without subs.
the remainder we can make up with fund raising and sponsorship, programme, events etc
a quick one for frankie, does anyone refuse to play first team football at Bay, preferring to play for to quote victure mateaur "the excellant team spirit" which comes from playing beneath yourself and winning easily every week.
what support does he get from the second team manager, does he select both squads?
thoughts again from others on how successfull thier reserve/first team interaction works.

Just speaking from experience, when I was managing, I picked both teams and made sure we played the same formation in both sides. Anyone who didnt train, didnt play first team football and those who did train would be guaranteed a game unless we had more than 22 turn up.
But what do I know, we were relegated that season and in my first ever league game as a manager, Ardsley beat us 7-0 at our place.
